The Shooting School has provided shooting tuition for very nearly 50 years & we are now teaching third generation junior shooters.
The first shooting lesson that anyone ever has is arguably the most important lesson of all.
We take great care to select the correct gun, suitable cartridges & safety equipment. We also ensure that we spend time on gun safety & etiquette. We have a large selection of small gauge shotguns with short stocks, suitable for the younger shooter or lady shot.
Our First Shots programme teaches a healthy respect for sporting shotguns guns & their correct safe use both for game shooting & clay pigeon shooting.
Lessons for Junior shooters are tailored to maintain their interest & all questions are answered with full explanations. The first lesson usually lasts about an hour & a half as safety & gun component names are discussed.
Lessons are conducted on a one to one basis & at a pace that is suitable for each individual.
As a general rule of thumb we teach children from the age of 8 upwards although we have taught quite a number younger than this. It is advisable to discuss this with Guy in the Gunroom on 01335 330247.
Junior shots 16 years and under are offered the opportunity to attend and shoot the sunday open clay shoots at a preferential rate, so please mention this when paying at the desk on an open shoot.
