The one and a half acre lake here on the Estate has been described as perhaps the finest small dry-fly lake in Derbyshire. In Summer the lake abounds with natural fly life and the evening rises are often spectacular.

The Lake at Yeaveley Estate

The lake opens from 9.00 a.m. and closes at dusk. The number of rods are strictly limited to six and therefore booking is essential. Booking is arranged by telephoning the gunroom on (01335) 330247. The bag limit is three fish, which are your first three fish caught. Thereafter catch and release on barbless hooks a further five fish. Extra fish may be purchased.

As shooting often takes place on the estate you are respectively requested to obey any signs directing you to the lake by alternative routes.

The banks are close mown grass with ample benches. There is also a small fishing lodge where you are welcome to rest. Within the lodge is the returns book which you are asked to complete at the end of your day. Toilets are available at the main lodge less than one hundred metres from the lake.

Tuition is available by appointment and flies are available for purchase. Rod hire is available by prior arrangement.

We can offer a number of different levels of flyfishing tuition.

Basic instruction is available both for groups & individuals – all tuition is by prior arrangement and each session is tailored to your specific needs.

In respect of Corporate groups we provide all the equipment that you need along with a suitable ratio of Instructors to those fishing.We are able to look after total novices on our Corporate days & fishing makes for an extremely relaxing contrast top many of the other activities that we offer.

Advanced flyfishing tuition to the highest standard is available through our APGAI registered fishing Instructors.

For those wishing to fish on a regular basis we offer a membership package.

Membership runs for one year from the time of payment.

Members are entitled to 4 x free day tickets which can be used at anytime through the year.Thereafter a day ticket costs £25 & you are allowed to take 3 fish & then catch and release on barbless hooks to a sportsman like limit.

In addition you are eligible to have “evening rise” tickets for a cost of £20 per visit. The ticket enables you to fish from 4.00p.m until dusk & take 2 fish subject to the above criteria.

Cost for this is £160.00 , payable in advance , per annum.
